NICC introduces a new initiative. The Xchangers conduct meaningful interviews with experts about international cooperation and sustainable development. It explores those themes through an intergenerational perspective.
The core of the Xchangers’ vision is: ‘the past can inspire us to take on challenges in the present.’ Interviewers connect stories to today’s world bringing their own experiences and perspectives into the interview. This leads to an interactive approach across views, creating a space for a mutual exchange of knowledge.
We convey our message by building a live archive. This archive is accessible through our website. It will also be integrated into timelines and promoted through social media and by NICC representatives at events. We will soon offer an oversight of the first collected work from the Xchangers team.
Become an Xchanger!
The Xchangers team develops material and collects information for all age groups and professions that are interested in building sustainable change. However, the Xchangers team places an emphasis on recruiting young professions (including students) who carry a sense of social responsibility.
We offer young professionals a place to develop their skills, a growing network, access to resources, and an intern/volunteer coordinator. You will join a committed team of senior volunteers and interns that support each other with their knowledge and skills.
As long as research topics of interest are relevant and fall within NICC’s focus on international cooperation, you are free to research what you are passionate about. In doing so, there is a lot of freedom in relation to the publishment of the gathered materials (e.g. video, podcast, short clips, animation). You are encouraged to find and/or create a medium that complements your interview and research best.
Furthermore, NICC promotes a working environment where the following learning goals are part of a track with the Xchangers team:
Learn how to prepare for/and take interviews
Learn digital skills; how to work with video software, and how to edit video's
Develop organisational & teamwork skills
Develop in-depth knowledge about International Cooperation & Sustainable Development.
